MAKER’S CURRICULUM

We actively ideate, experiment, and refine our approach to deliver an innovative makering curriculum that continually evolves. Our ambitious projects are age-appropriate and filled with imaginative opportunities, offering transformative life lessons.

An eclectic array of activities, including crafts, art, gardening, cooking, design, science, music, life skills, sewing, carpentry, and upcycling, allow young makers to explore a wide range of interests, all while having fun and making friends.

With small class and camp sizes, limited to a maximum of 8 young makers, we ensure personalized attention and a supportive environment for growth.

MAKER’S ENRICHMENT

We believe the best way to connect kids with their creativity and each other is through fun projects. As they learn by doing, they develop self-confidence and build community.

Additionally, our commitment to upcycling within each project instills a deep appreciation for sustainability, empowering them to contribute positively to the environment.

Young makers return home with much more than cool projects - they hold the skills and confidence needed to thrive: how to bravely try new things, resourcefully solve problems, effectively communicate ideas or needs, and persevere despite challenges.

MAKER’S MENTOR

Alameda Makering is the dream and reality of founder and operator Deneese Jackson, a lifelong maker. Her mission is to inspire, empower, and provide a welcoming space for young makers to explore, innovate, and gain life-changing skills. Firmly believing in the power of learning by doing, which engages our hands, minds, and hearts, she is dedicated to creating an environment where children can thrive creatively while building amazing projects. As a passionate upcycler, she also teaches young makers the importance of reuse and how to reimagine the possibilities with each project. Makering classes and camps are held in Deneese’s welcoming Alameda home.
