SCHOOL BREAK CAMPS

Join us for exciting makering activities and fun during a “break” that coincides with a single-day or week-long school closure. We kick-off each day with a morning maker project, followed by a brief mid-morning break to relax or jump on the trampoline, and then a cooking project. At lunchtime, we venture to one of the nearby parks for a picnic and some physical activity! The afternoon session may continue with the morning project or introduce a new one. We end the afternoon by cleaning up the Makerspaces and reflecting on the day.

Each Break camp includes ambitious, age-appropriate, and fun maker projects, which could include crafts, art, gardening, cooking, design, science, music, life skills, sewing, carpentry, or a combination of these. Each project incorporates the safe use of various tools, integrates upcycled materials through a range of creative techniques, and promotes the development of life skills. All projects are demonstrated using best practices, while individual creativity is celebrated.

The details:

Break camps run from 9am - 3:30pm on specified days. Aftercare is available until 4pm each day—be sure to select this option at checkout.

Break camps are open to 2nd – 8th graders, and classes are small format (6 makers max).
All necessary supplies and materials are included.
Cooking projects will be part of each Break camp. Be sure to advise of any food allergies or dietary restrictions so accommodation can be made.
Bring lunch and a beverage each day, wear comfortable walking shoes, and have a sweatshirt or jacket for outside activities.
Please note that the daily schedule may change due to weather and/or workload.

Enrollment, Refunds, and Cancellation Policy:

Enrollment covers the specified camp day(s).
We do not provide refunds for missed camp days. As a small business with specialized services, we appreciate your understanding and support. See our full policy on our FAQs page.
To initiate cancellation of your camp enrollment, please email deneese@alamedamakering.com at least 14 days before the start of the camp. A 5% cancellation fee will be applied and deducted (to cover the processing costs).
