MAKER’S TABLE

The Maker’s Table is the heart of Alameda Makering, a space where we come together to ignite creativity and foster a sense of community. In this cherished corner of Deneese’s home, her family embarks on various adventures: it’s where homework assignments get done, meaningful discussions are had, meals are shared, gifts are wrapped, Halloween costumes come to life, and delightful chaos occasionally reigns. This table, where creativity knows no bounds, is more than just furniture; it’s an open invitation to all, where everyone is valued and equal. Positioned adjacent to the Maker’s Kitchen, it seamlessly connects to another creative hub, allowing flow between the two spaces and endless makering possibilities.

MAKER’S KITCHEN

At Alameda Makering, we integrate cooking into our core curriculum because we believe it's an essential skill, an art form ideal for expressing creativity, and a way to connect with others. Our cooking lessons impart valuable life skills such as reading recipes, using kitchen tools, and understanding ingredients, all while having fun. We are inspired by the power of food to be more than sustenance; it brings people together, serving as an expression of care, connection, and culture.  We aspire for young makers to discover that cooking and sharing meals are among life’s greatest joys. The Maker's Kitchen, located adjacent to the Maker's Table, serves as the melting pot for culinary exploration. From mastering the basics to experimenting with new recipes, our cooking sessions are designed to be entertaining, educational, and empowering.

MAKER’S GARDEN

In Deneese's backyard lies the Maker's Garden, where young makers are immersed in the wonders (and work) of growing fruits, veggies, and herbs. Here, young makers cultivate and enjoy organic, 'homegrown' produce and learn to share the bountiful abundance. Gardening is integral to Alameda Makering’s core curriculum, fostering lifelong skills of optimism, patience, and gratitude. Together, we roll up our sleeves to sow seeds, nurture growth, and celebrate the harvest with hands-on learning, sustainable gardening methods, and fun outdoor adventures. And yes, we get dirty because there's nothing more grounding than working with soil. We also bring our bounty into the Maker's Kitchen to prepare delicious dishes. Like the Maker's Table and Maker's Kitchen, the Maker's Garden is a lively spot where creativity and learning grow together.
